Mix And Match 2! (Things I Like – Part 1)

July 16, 2009 by kaasa

Hello people, to take a break from the loooong blog posts, I decided to do another Mix and Match! :-)

So this time, I thought I’d write about things I like!  I haven’t been up to much other than lots of swimming now that my ankle is proper again. We’ve just been lazing and not thinking… nothing major to report on this end though I’m sure we’ll be getting into some adventures soon…

Here goes with my Part 1 list of things I like…. (sorry for the haphazard photo posting, I just am too tired to figure out how to grid it up and it’s really late here and time for my beddy-bye). See ya!

:-)

I liiiiiike……

Kiehl's Baby Lip Balm

Kiehl's Baby Lip Balm - It's the super best for chapped lips. I use it in the morning and at night before I go to bed. It's light, non-greasy, perfume free, it isn't animal tested and you can get it at any Kiehl's store ( I got a 6 month supply at the big Kiehl's store on 3rd Ave in New York) or at the mall in the finer department stores. Or just order it online.

freedom

Freedom! - I love it that when it's warm, I can walk around in open toed shoes, even to my job. I work in an Architecture/Design firm and we can dress up or down, pretty much wear anything... So it's wonderful not having to feel constricted when it's warm, though I do love wearing heels every once in a while.

table

This Table - No, it's not Ikea. :-)

DSC01045

My Plants - I bought this plant from my local nursery for a dollar because it was dying, and I've been taking care of it and giving it lots of love. It's doing very well now though I have no idea what it's scientific name is, other than it's some sort of succulent. I've been feeding it with Super Thrive and it's doing reall well. I also like the linen curtains you can see behind the plant. I have them in my bedroom as well.

shopping for lingerie

Shopping for Lingerie - But you know this already. The rarer, the better... God knows what I'd have done if I was born a man! I love being a girl! :-)

friends

Friends! - They're the best thing ever, only second to family! I honestly don't know what I'd do without some of the people in my life. I love all my friends so much, because they're all good, drama-free people and they've been consistently that way for years. Some since childhood.

this bag

This Bag - You could hide a dead body in it and no one would ever know. Very roomy, nice colour and just enough for the girl on the go. I've never been a purse person. I generally buy one, use it till I'm tired of it (or it falls apart) then go for another. I like good quality stuff though.

Emergen-c

Emergen-c Vitamin Powder Satchets - Man, this stuff is so good. It's packed with Vitamin C, seven B vitamins, antioxidants, electrolytes... I mix a satchet in a glass of water every day. One in the morning, one at lunch, one in the afternoon and evening when I go for my run. The best thing ever, though I also take an organic B-Complex tablet twice a day as well. These are easy to get in any drugstore or at the supermarket. I actually take the one in the pink box if you can find it, because part of the money goes to breast cancer research.

My garden

Gardening - So therapeutic. I have my jembe ready for next year when I'm finally home. I find that when I'm digging around outside, I work off a lot of tension. You should try it. Just start with a few seeds in a pot and soon, you'll find yourself rushing home to see how 'they' are doing...

perfume

Perfume! - Lots and lots and lots... But nothing too sweet. I like airy, fresh, tangy stuff. Second to lingerie, this is my big indulgence.

swim1

Swimming - What can I say? I love to swim. It keeps me fit and toned and sometimes I think I was meant to be a mermaid, or am one in disguise. I don't get ear infections because I plug up my ears when I swim. I'd rather swim in the ocean than in a pool though.

plane france 2009

Traveling - There's nothing like seeing the world..., going to new places and learning new things. Every time I know I'm going someplace new, I get so excited and nervous... My stomach tightens up, I can't sleep..., I can't wait to get on the plane and take off. I'm excited becuase next year when I'm outta here, I'll get to travel more, stress free...

calamari

Eating - Thank God I have a great metabolism...

chez flavien2

Visiting Old Friends - And staying in their homes in pretty cities.

Seconded on the tulip table – alas, too broke to buy one right now! And emergen-C is great for staving off the potential hangover. Just have a tall glass of that stuff after overindulging and you’re right as rain the next day. Keep them coming…

    Hey Miss Reality :-)
Thanks, and you do the same. Don’t work too hard! :-)

    @marla,
    Thanks! :-)
I was lucky in that I got the table from a guy who was a buyer for a firm I worked in some years ago so I didn’t pay a gazillion bucks for it. I’ll put up more picks of my lucky design ‘finds’…
